Sensational Burger - Merrywell


What makes a good burger? First it must have the ratio of meat to bun close to 1:1. Too many so called burgers are flattened pieces of meat swamped by bread. This indicates poor cooking technique, as squashing the meat removes all juices and makes it a dry. A good burger has a nice pink middle and the juices flow when you bite into it. Merrywell (located in the crown casino complex in Melbourne) makes none of those errors and produces a burger that it a delight to eat. The cheese melts wonderfully around the meat keeping the bun and burger together. The bun is lightly toasted on one side which creates a crunchy texture offset by the spongy untoasted side which has the perfect blend of sweetness. The only negative about this burger is the lack of a crunch by either having lettuce or fried onions.
